I'm still on holiday, thinking about returning to the UK to look for work but everyone tells me it's worse than when I left, oh well back to the beach me thinks :)

Well peeps, Ive gone and done it and moved to Asia, where there are still opportunities to get employment. Good luck in your job hunt although I fear you will still be searching well into 2010

Yet another job slips through my hands because I'm "too experienced" and will "get bored"

My God all I want to do is work, surely they should get as much experience as they can afford! Doh!

Or are they saying that I'm too old?

Seems to me that you can only get considered for a job if you are aged between 25 and 30, oh and you must have at least 20 years experience LOL

Interview process yawn

The current climate seems to be an excuse for really dragging out the interview process by some employers, this is all well and good now and I can see how companies are taking advantage (supply and demand) but when things recover they will suffer as candidates become scarce. People are changing careers or moving overseas. When the economy recovers there will be no candidates left.

Friend of mine been out of work for 6 months, had no interviews for 3 months got a job last week :)

Just goes to prove there are some jobs out there, he had fisrt interview and 2nd day after - job offer in the evening - starts 1st June

I keep getting emails from firms or people who want me to pay to circulate my CV. Surely we can apply for jobs we want ourselves, I know I certainly apply to many jobs each day and that costs me nothing, whatever your circumstances avoid these leeches

Had an interview recently and just could not believe the arrogance of the HR girlie that interviewed me. Lots of sneering and looking down on me like a second class citizen, (I've got a job and you haven't), you are lucky Im even spending the time interviewing you! What a bunch of tossers! Who would want to work for a company that treats interviewees like this? Oh BTW its a a very large multinational who pride themselves on their HR and recruitment process, what bollox.
