I'm still on holiday, thinking about returning to the UK to look for work but everyone tells me it's worse than when I left, oh well back to the beach me thinks :)

Im going on holiday and stuff the job centre signing on malaky

My last day next Friday, I cannot believe the lack of jobs, however, Im a bit suspicious about many excuses from recruiters that say Im too experienced or too senior, surely that's a benefit to the potential employer, getting bags of experience for bargain basement money, OR is it dressed up age discrimination?

I was getting quite a few calls from recruitment agents and at least 2 or 3 interciews a week up until last week, its like the whole world has shut down, whats going on?  Im just applying for scraps right now, where Im over qualified and huge reduction in salary and still no joy, and I hear its only going to get worse hmph!

Thats funny Simon! at least somthing that made me smile today, certainly nothing happening on the job front. UK is shut due to snow, come back later in the week when we may or may not be open for business

Had a meeting on Friday with the boss, so now I am officually in a "consultation" period, which I find out they have to do by law, essentially I'm out of work from 23rd Feb.  OK better start looking for a new job

Found out today, got a meeting with my boss on Friday, sounds like my job is under threat, need to find out all about 'consultation periods' ????
